Afhankelijk van de gewenste laageigenschappen zijn dit bijvoorbeeld titanium, aluminium, chroom of zirkonium en silicium. Dit materiaal wordt '<strong>target<\/strong>' genoemd.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">De <strong>samenstelling, dikte en eigenschappen van de laag<\/strong> kunnen door de keuze van de 'target', procesparameters en afzettingsomstandigheden worden gecontroleerd.\nZo kunnen bijvoorbeeld de structuur, de hardheid, maar ook de thermische weerstand worden ingesteld.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">De gewenste laagdikte is ook <strong>afhankelijk van de grootte en het doel van het werkstuk<\/strong>. In principe is een laagdikte tot 10 \u00b5m mogelijk. Bij microgereedschap daarentegen is de laagdikte meestal minder dan 1 \u00b5m.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Er zijn<strong> verschillende processen voor PVD-coaten<\/strong>, die ook kunnen worden gecombineerd. Enkele van de meest voorkomende processen zijn:<br>\n<br><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>Arc-PVD:<\/strong> Bij boogverdamping wordt een boog tussen een elektrode en het laagmateriaal gecre\u00eberd om deeltjes van de 'target' los te maken.<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>Sputteren<\/strong>: De 'target' wordt gebombardeerd met magnetisch afgebogen ionen of elektronen.<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>Laser<\/strong>: Het materiaal wordt gebombardeerd met laserstralen om verdamping op gang te brengen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><br>Bij H\u00e4rtha bieden we sputteren en boogcoaten aan. De verschillende processen volgen <strong>in principe dezelfde stappen.<\/strong>\n<br><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\"><br>Verdamping<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Bij verdampingsdepositie wordt de 'target' zo sterk verhit dat de <strong>atomen op het oppervlak als gas <\/strong>vrijkomen en beschikbaar zijn voor de volgende stap. Hiervoor bestaan verschillende technologie\u00ebn. Bij H\u00e4rtha gebruiken we het arc-proces.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Om gecontroleerde omstandigheden en wisselwerking met luchtmoleculen te voorkomen, vindt de verdamping<strong> in vacu\u00fcm<\/strong> plaats.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\"><br>Reactie<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Om het verdampte materiaal op het werkstukoppervlak af te zetten, voegt men vervolgens een <b>reactief gas toe<\/b>, dat zich bindt met de metaaldampen. De keuze van het gas heeft een belangrijke invloed op de eigenschappen van de laag. Meestal gaat het om een\u00a0<b>koolstofhoudend gas of stikstof<\/b>. Deze gassen zorgen voor een sterke hechting en vormen nitride- en oxideverbindingen die bescherming bieden tegen roest en corrosie.<br>\n<br><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Om ongewenste chemische reacties te voorkomen, wordt deze stap <strong>in een chemisch niet-reactieve atmosfeer <\/strong>uitgevoerd. Dit kan worden gedaan met een inert gas zoals argon. Om ervoor te zorgen dat de laagdikte over het gehele <strong>werkstuk<\/strong> gelijkmatig is, wordt het werkstuk tijdens deze stap<strong> over meerdere assen geroteerd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\"><br>Afzetting<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">\u00a0<br>\nIn de laatste stap worden de verdampte atomen van de 'target' afgezet op het werkstukoppervlak en vormen daar een <strong>dunne filmlaag.<\/strong>\n\u00a0<br><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\"><br>Slijtagebeschermende coatings in \u00e9\u00e9n oogopslag<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>PVD-coatings kunnen als slijtvaste lagen dienen.
