Op deze manier kan bijvoorbeeld gericht alleen het binnen- of buitenoppervlak van een onderdeel worden gehard. Dit kan door middel van inductie. Hiervoor wordt <strong>met een koperen spoel een elektromagnetisch wisselstroomveld gegenereerd.<\/strong> De elektrische weerstand in het onderdeel genereert warmte die tot de specifieke hardingstemperatuur kan worden verhoogd.\n<br>\n<br><\/p>\n<h3>Hardingsproces<\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In tegenstelling tot andere hardingsprocessen <strong>wordt inductieharden sequentieel uitgevoerd.<\/strong> Dit betekent dat het te harden gebied door het verplaatsen van de inductor wordt verhit en door een koelbad wordt afgekoeld.<br>\n\u00a0<br>\nAfhankelijk van de grootte van het onderdeel en de inductor kan het werkstuk ook geleidelijk door de inductor worden geschoven. Bovendien kan tijdens dit proces een draaiende beweging nodig zijn (bijvoorbeeld bij assen).<br>\n\u00a0<br>\nTen slotte wordt het staal spanningsvrij gemaakt op lage temperatuur of ontlaten.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><strong>Korte verhittings- en verblijftijden zorgen voor een zeer lage oxidatie.<\/strong> Om de gewenste structuurvorming mogelijk te maken moet een juiste verhouding van verblijftijd en hardingstemperatuur worden ingesteld. Dat hangt voornamelijk af van het soort materiaal en het koolstofgehalte.
