Vervolgens wordt een beschermende diffusiezone gecre\u00eberd van gesmolten zout in een nitreerbad van 580 \u00b0C. Daarbij dringt niet alleen stikstof, maar ook koolstof door in het oppervlak van het onderdeel.<\/p>\n<p>Voor de gewenste eigenschappen wordt de chemische samenstelling van het zoutbad dienovereenkomstig gereguleerd. De behandeling kan, afhankelijk van het type staal, enkele minuten tot enkele uren duren. Zodra de behandeltijd is verstreken, wordt water, olie of een polymeer gebruikt om de werkstukken af te koelen.<\/p>\n<h3>Nabehandeling in het oxidatiebad: Tenifer QPQ-proces<br><\/h3>\n<p>Bij het Tenifer QPQ-proces worden de werkstukken na het nitrieerbad in een oxideerbad geplaatst. Vervolgens worden de werkstukken met water afgekoeld. Tenifer zorgt voor een extreem hoge corrosiebestendigheid, die vaak zelfs galvanische coatings overtreft.
