In questo modo <strong>il carbonio e l\u2019azoto si diffondono nella superficie dell\u2019acciaio<\/strong>. Successivamente si procede allo spegnimento in acqua, olio o bagno di sali fusi. Al termine del processo, fa seguito il rinvenimento tra 160 \u00b0C e 300 \u00b0C, che serve a ridurre la fragilit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Rispetto alla cementazione, <strong>nella carbonitrurazione sono sufficienti temperature inferiori<\/strong>, comprese tra 820 \u00b0C e 900 \u00b0C. Inoltre di norma il processo \u00e8 pi\u00f9 breve. Si tratta di premesse ottimali per una deformazione ridotta. In aggiunta l\u2019azoto riduce la velocit\u00e0 di raffreddamento critica per la formazione di martensite, con conseguente miglior temprabilit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">La profondit\u00e0 di indurimento mediante tempra dipende dalla temprabilit\u00e0 generale del tipo di acciaio, dalla geometria del componente, dallo strato di carbonitrurazione, dalla temperatura di tempra e dalla velocit\u00e0 di raffreddamento. La carbonitrurazione rientra invece nei procedimenti di tempra. Ci\u00f2 dipende dalla scarsa quantit\u00e0 di azoto assorbita nella struttura. In questo modo durante il riscaldamento non si forma alcuno strato di collegamento.
