At H\u00e4rtha, we use optical emission spectroscopy to <strong>analyse iron-based materials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The metal analysis can serve the following functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\" translation-block\"><strong>Identification<\/strong> of unknown types of materials<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Testing the <b>delivery quality <\/b>of a material<\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Testing a material against <b>DIN standards<\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Determination of <strong>reasons for excessive wear<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Determination of <strong>material quality<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\" translation-block\">Exclusion of <strong>material mix-ups<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\">Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Optical emission spectroscopy is also known as arc-spark OES or spark OES. It is used to <strong>determine grades of steel,<\/strong>  and is carried out using a <strong>OES spectrometer,<\/strong> also known as a spark spectrometer. The device displays the emission spectrum of chemical substances.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">As soon as a material or component passes through the spark stand, it generates an <strong>arc or spark discharge.<\/strong> The contact between spark and material causes the sample material to evaporate. The atoms and ions released in the process are excited to radiation state. This <strong>emitted radiation<\/strong> is passed through optical systems and separated into <strong>its spectral components.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">This results in <strong>light waves of different length<\/strong> that are typical of the individual elements. Measurement of these different wavelengths makes it possible to <strong>clearly identify and quantify the elements<\/strong> or ingredients contained in a material.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\">Stationary and mobile devices<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Both stationary and mobile devices are available for material analysis. At H\u00e4rtha, we use both types of devices. As well as giving us the ability to <strong>react flexibly,<\/strong> we can easily perform <strong>exact analyses<\/strong> - even of large and bulky workpieces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #6ab651;\">Cost of material analysis<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The costs incurred for a material analysis vary with the type of analysis and the workpiece to be examined. What is more, as a <strong>non-destructive<\/strong>  testing method, material analysis also has no effect on the properties of the workpiece.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Knowing the material properties exactly allows <strong>compliance with legal testing and safety requirements,<\/strong> as well as <strong>efficient use of resources<\/strong> by repairing components.
